Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make an appointment?

Taking the first step can be challenging but we are here to help. We are glad you are reaching out and we want to make this experience as stress free as possible.

When you call you will get one of our team members. Either Kerry or Kristina will answer your call. We will ask you a few questions about your concerns and will schedule you with a therapist that is a good fit.

If you receive our voicemail during our regular business hours we may be in session so please leave us a message with a good contact number and we will get back to you as soon as possible (usually within 24 business hours).

You can reach us by calling (941) 363-6004. If you are an established client please contact your therapist directly with the number they have provided you.

What are your hours of operation?

We are conveniently located on Clark road in Sarasota. We are open by appointment so we can best meet your needs. We offer day, evening, and weekend hours.

What is the cost per session?

We offer a sliding fee scale for those that are uninsured and for those that express a financial need. We do request proof of income.

We offer traditional counseling services at a rate of $125/hour. Sessions are typically 50 minutes long.

TIR sessions are typically 50-90 min. TIR and other sessions that last more than 50 min will be charged by the next quarter hour.

Sexual Addiction Therapy is highly specialized and starts at $150/hour.

How do I pay for counseling?

We accept cash and all major credit cards. Payment is required at the time of service.

We also offer service contacts/packages for our specialized care that may offer you a discount on your session cost. These are paid up front in advance.

Paypal is accepted for telehealth sessions and payment is due prior to the service being provided.

Is counseling covered by insurance?

Yes. Insurance covers most therapy services. We work with some insurance providers but are mostly “out of network”.

You can call the customer service number on your insurance card and ask about your out of network coverage for therapy/counseling. They will inform you of your benefits for counseling and how to use them.

If you are "out of network" you will pay for your counseling session and your insurance company will reimburse you for some or all of your expense. We will be happy to provide you an invoice to send to your insurance company.

What insurances do you take?

Currently we accept:

Medicare part B and Medicare Secondaries, TRICARE, WebTPA (Sarasota Memorial Health), Wellcare (Medicare Only)and Cigna (Kerry only). This changes from time to time so please call us for an updated list.

We are currently out of network with most insurance panels. If you would like to see us as part of your network please call the customer service number on your insurance card and make a request that we be added.

Can I pay privately?

Yes. You can pay for services out of pocket and avoid using your insurance if you prefer.

There are different reasons why individuals may choose to pay privately and we understand your concerns. We are happy to assist you with our private pay option.

What can I expect at my first session?

The first session is mostly an introduction session between you and your counselor. This is the session where we get to know you and determine the best way to help you with your concerns.

You will need to come in about 15 min prior to your session to complete paperwork. Please bring your photo ID and insurance cards (if applicable).

What is the counseling process like?

Counseling is a very personal and unique experience for everyone. Once you determine what areas you want to work on we can utilize any of the many different types of techniques to ad-dress your concerns.

TIR sessions can have positive effect in as little as 1-2 sessions.

Things may get emotionally uncomfortable at times but our goal is to help you through that to the other side where you feel lighter and freer than before.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that you call 48 hours in advance to cancel your session. This enables us to offer that appointment time to someone else.

Missed appointments and late cancellations will be billed to you at a fee of $50.

We understand there may be some circumstances that require a cancellation so please call your therapist directly and we can discuss rescheduling your appointment.

What age group do you serve?

Currently we service older adolescents (14 and older), young adults, adults, and older adults (60+).

Do you offer more than individual counseling?

Yes. We offer individual, couples, family counseling, and life coaching.

We may from time to time offer group counseling. It can be difficult to get a group started but we are always willing to put together a group if the need is strong enough.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. We are not able to prescribe medication. We are happy to refer you to a medical doctor for medication management services.
